Close your eyes and envision a member of iUniverse's management team hanging up the telephone, rubbing his hands gleefully and glancing around the conference table at his two colleagues with an evil sparkle in their eyes. His tone is almost maniacal. We've hooked...

This post is to let everyone who had a bad experience with Iuniverse. That if you call 317-232-6201 or 317-232-6330 for a complaint about them. It is the Indiana Consumer Hotline. The Att. General Curtis Hill will look into the complaints. We just need to flood his office with them, and then we will able to take down Iniverse and hopeful get our money back. This way no attorney fees.

Difficult to deal with and staffed with many incompetents. I paid big buck (perhaps $1,000?) for proofreading and all the did was fun it thru MS Word leaving may mistakes. I sent them the corrections and said they could publish after fixing em. They published the book w/o making the corrections! They asked for $500 to advertise the book. I told them OK if they allow me to submit a revision first at no cost to me. I sent em the $500 an have been spending months trying to get them to insert the revisions. Now, they are not responding to my emails. Next step is Small Claims Court.

Not saying you are wrong, but you really have to give an editor something to work with. If your story is anything like your letter it would be difficult to know what it was about. If you can't edit a small email yourself for grammar and spelling, you can't expect someone to change a whole book.

I paid them good money and they promised that they would be able to publish my adult coloring. I have been working on the for over 30 years. I start will one person, who keep telling the a 6x9 book. I told no it had to be 8.5 x 11. I have documents the say the large size. Then I am give to someone else. I didn't have the program to darken the lines, they said that they could do it, and in the same breathe say they are going to publish as it. I cancelled the publishing, But because I went past the 90 days I will get nothing for a refund. They were stalling so it would go past the 90 days. So what do I do now. I can't get any money back at all, and no book either.

My elderly father reached out to iuniverse to republish his book hoping to reach more readers. They were fine in terms of price and help with that, but once the deal was made I can only assume that his point of contact passed his name along to the sales department....

They don't know how to proof read nor help you till the end - Iuniverse review
I dealt with this company back in 2009. They misspelled words in my book and didn't even bother proofreading it. It was published, but all the feedback was in the grammar of the book. I looked like a fool. I will never deal with this company ever again. I have two other books written now and I will not use them. Also, when you self publish, it's hard to get newspapers to pick up your story and no book signings. Many companies will not deal with self publishing companies. I spent well over 14,000 with these people, and what a waste of money. The Name of my book was "A Big House for Little Men" by Michael W McKay

Same thing happened to my mother, except they strung her along for over 10,000 dollars. We need to get a class action lawsuit on these crooks. My mother is old and they misled her and robbed her blind.

My book Tuesday Beyond *** was published back in March of 2017 and I have not received a single royalty check. I have complained for several months and am just bushed off. One brush off was "We sent you a check" if you did not receive it we will send you a replacement...

I also published a book with IUniverse back in 2010, entitled the Power of the Gift. I must agree with you that they seem to be stealing royalties and seem to have no intention to share with the writer. I'm planning to write another book and I can assure you that it will not be published by IUniverse...
