Iuniverse - They don't know how to proof read nor help you till the end
I dealt with this company back in 2009. They misspelled words in my book and didn't even bother proofreading it. It was published, but all the feedback was in the grammar of the book. I looked like a fool. I will never deal with this company ever again. I have two other books written now and I will not use them. Also, when you self publish, it's hard to get newspapers to pick up your story and no book signings. Many companies will not deal with self publishing companies. I spent well over 14,000 with these people, and what a waste of money. The Name of my book was "A Big House for Little Men" by Michael W McKay

They contacted me about a book festival in L.A. CA. They told me it will cost me $674.00 for my book entry. AFTER I paid the down payment the the contract for the service, I found out my book will be held until payment in full is complete. Here's the proof.

I ve published the book in 2011. I’m an experienced writer with over 70 books published with some of the known global publishers. I paid extra for reviews and other marketing pitches from iUniverse. I am receiving ridicule royalties. I believe iUniverse is cheating!,,, the book got rave reviews. I have the same book in Spanish and in French and royalties are 1000% higher in a much smaller market. I’m preparing a new edition in English, and fortunately I maintain the copyrights and most likely will not publish with iUniverse. Prof. Simon L. Dolan

I've been wanting to get my novel published for a while now. Iuniverse caught wind of it like a bloodhound and made me an offer. "One fee, 3 installments, get everything you will need." That was a lie. They have been charging me for everything from editing, to...

Same thing happened to my mother, except they strung her along for over 10,000 dollars. We need to get a class action lawsuit on these crooks. My mother is old and they misled her and robbed her blind.

As an experienced (published) author -- several dozen articles, three nonfiction books and an equal number of non-productive agents, I had my eyes open when I bought their package for a mystery/crime novel. I did so on the basis that somehow a few of their authors...

My book Tuesday Beyond *** was published back in March of 2017 and I have not received a single royalty check. I have complained for several months and am just bushed off. One brush off was "We sent you a check" if you did not receive it we will send you a replacement...

I also published a book with IUniverse back in 2010, entitled the Power of the Gift. I must agree with you that they seem to be stealing royalties and seem to have no intention to share with the writer. I'm planning to write another book and I can assure you that it will not be published by IUniverse...

I published with iUniverse in 2012, and had a decent experience, given that I was totally inexperienced in publishing. They did keep hounding me for promo events, but that stopped when I asked them to. I do still get small royalty checks and recently ordered copies of...

How much of a net gain have you made? and how much have you paid this company?

My mother has spent over 10 thousand dollars on this company a year ago and has yet to receive any royalties. She was told her book was so good it could be a publishers choice or something like that. They would take a couple thousand from her then keep stringing her along on how great the book was if she gave them more money.

What was so great about your experience. Did you pay them little and are receiving herds of royalties?

We should ban together and do class action. My royalty check from them was $1.17.

There is no possible scenario where that amount would ever be correct based on the percentage I get from sales.

This is basically a payment for less than 1 book sale worldwide. Iuniverse = Iscamaverse

Burn job through arrogance and incompetence by iUniverse

I paid for something and got something else. Bait and switch. Plus, total lack of quality assurance. Despite countless emails to a dozen people at iUniverse, I am now in a financial conflict with this dishonest outfit.
