I can't even begin to tell you of their shake down process without my blood boiling. I did two books with iUniverse.
Big mistake. The first book cost me a bundle because of errors (my bad), but when ready for print, they got my name wrong on the cover! They are not the printers. They send all their work to a printer in Tenn.
They have no control of their printing. You can hear in the background the kind of operation they are. They're a *** phone bank, manned by employees that come and go regularly. that's why you never have the same PSA for very long before a new PSA comes on board.
And what's with the accents? I can barely understand anyone that calls me. Must tell you the hour rate or commission rate offered by these clowns. I am doing my second book with CreateSpace.
I should've done this from the get go. Oh, well, live and learn. I feel I lost both block payments and additional payments over $3,000 (and that's because it never ends with them), but you know what? I don't care.
Live and learn. I just hope people have enough common sense to check these posts before signing on with iUniverse. They used to be in Iowa, but apparently got chased from there. I think they use the iUniverse because of their proximity to the U of Indiana.
IU, get it?
