I paid $1600 for a professional edit, and my book went to print with at least ten typos. When I tried to get these corrected, the company tried to shake me down for another $400 for a block of edits. They accepted no personal responsibility for the shoddy editing job. ...

To get a traditional publisher to publish your book you send them a high quality marketable book you don't spend any money what nonsense Bev talks. And yes I have been published by a traditional publisher and I was a nobody. My father was scammed by this *** company that's how I know about it.

I spent $3000 dollars on a marketing package as this was my first book and I was unsure how to market the book effectively. I received one book review in a minor publication for that amount. Since then I've begun to self promote through social media and I have a 5 star...

Phone Calls Return Review

I had a contract with IUNIVERSE back when they were in NE .... After they relocated to IN, I couldn't chase anyone down to return my phone calls!!!!! They took thousands of dollars to publish my book and I never got a book published at all through them! To this day I cannot get anyone from IUNIVERSE to return a call and/or email.....

1. They do not have (true) agents on staff who market your book. They send emails out and later follow up with them to see if they like your material. How much time does it take to send out a generic email to a 100 or so companies (you do the math). How long does it...

I recently had a negative experience with iUniverse, I contacted them last week to publish a book by late June. I insisted that I need the book out by a specific date due to the launch of an extensive marketing campaign and I needed to make sure the book will be in...

Um they will tell you they can do anything to get your money, but they can't do anytbing nor do they care about doing anything for your book, nor do they have any interest in your book they just want your money. Their offices are about sell sell sell more "packages" to idiots, nothing happens about book they have no intrest in books.

But you are CRAZY thinking anyone can "get your book in stores" by any date. Um they aren't a real publisher therefore they can't get your book in brick and mortar stores ever. Even well established publishers are having trouble getting their books in stores, you would need a fantastic agent to select your book (the take 7 out of 36000 aprox) and then agent would have to get a publisher to accept (and they can't always suceed at that) and then your publisher would ahve a print run and then the publisher's sales rep would have to be successful at getting the book store to stock the book. All of that takes years.

You are an absolute mor-on for thinking a *** vanity trash publisher could get your books in brick and mortar stores.

why can't you sue this company for royalties that are owed to you. Such a shame, that you can't find almost no honest companies to work with people.

Everything is a ripoff nowdays. In fact, there is a website, called RipOff.com, maybe you should put your complaint on that site, to let other people to know to save their money.

I've written two memiors. One in 2008, and another in 2012. I published with IUNIVERSE, and only receieved an estimate of $8 in royalties. After spending over $3,000 dollars with they, they had the nerve to swindle another $600 dollars for media coverage, which...

I know what you mean. When I show my book in person, some people buy it.

But my iuniverse royalties online are very small, even though I follow their recommendations. I wanted to buy the Hollywood coverage but after experiences like yours, I'll skip it.

Let me know if you are persuing a class action suit about the royalties. I think they are stealing mine and want to join in the suit with you.
